We had the magical Merlina attend my daughter's 5th birthday party. The children were in awe of her stories, her presence and her engaging spirit. She was a complete delight and truly made the birthday party more than special. The kids were talking about it for weeks afterwards. I can't recommend Making Mermaids enough. Don't hesitate about booking!

What a beautiful experience for our girls 5th birthday party! She was in such awe of "Mermaid Kylie" and it was such a joy to see the magic and wonder in all the kids faces. Making Mermaids were great to deal with and very prompt with communication. Highly recommend. Thank you Team!

We had Mermaid Lorelei attend our daughter’s birthday party, and she was absolutely fantastic! From the moment she arrived, she completely captivated the children with her beautiful mermaid costume, engaging storytelling, and wonderful interaction. She stayed in character throughout the party and made every child feel included and special. Our daughter was thrilled and genuinely felt like she had met a real mermaid. The activities were well organised, age-appropriate, and kept the children entertained from start to finish. Mermaid Lorelei’s warmth, enthusiasm, and professionalism made the whole experience stress-free for us as parents and truly magical for the kids. We received so many compliments from other parents, and the children are still talking about the mermaid who came to the party! We would highly recommend Mermaid Lorelei to anyone looking to create a memorable and enchanting birthday celebration. Thank you for helping make our daughter’s special day so magical!

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) I was hoping for a magical mermaid experience, but this order seems to have disappeared into the deepest trench of the Pacific. On Monday 1 June, I ordered a girls' long-sleeve mermaid dress for my daughter to wear to a daycare birthday party on 13 June. The website was already swimming against the current — pages were painfully slow to load and the checkout process felt decidedly less "under the sea" and more "lost at sea." After submitting my order, I was greeted by an error message suggesting something had gone wrong and no order confirmation ever arrived. The only thing that surfaced successfully was the credit card charge of $42.46, which was processed immediately and without hesitation. Since then, I've tried every communication channel I could find: WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp calls, the website contact form, SMS messages, phone calls, and voicemail. Monday came and went. Tuesday came and went. Not a single response. As someone who lives in a neighbouring suburb, I deliberately chose to support a local business rather than buying elsewhere. Unfortunately, trying to contact Mermaid Fi has felt like sending messages in a bottle into the ocean and watching them drift away. Perhaps my order is currently being escorted by a school of turtles, but with no confirmation, no communication, and no response to repeated attempts at contact, it's impossible to know. At this stage, customer service appears to have joined the mermaids beneath the waves — beautiful in theory, but nowhere to be seen. If someone could surface long enough to confirm whether my daughter's dress actually exists, that would be greatly appreciated. Update 6 June: Well, plot twist: the mermaid has surfaced. Despite receiving absolutely no response to my WhatsApp messages, WhatsApp calls, SMS messages, phone calls, or website contact form submissions, the dress unexpectedly arrived today and is in good condition. So credit where it's due — the dress exists, it arrived, and my daughter is delighted with it. However, the complete radio silence left me with no confidence that the order had actually been received. With a daycare birthday party coming up on 13 June and no order confirmation, no shipping notification, and no response to repeated attempts to make contact, I felt I had little choice but to purchase a backup mermaid outfit elsewhere at a cost of around $60. In the end, my daughter now appears to have a larger mermaid wardrobe than Ariel, but that's not really the point. The issue was never the dress. The issue was the communication — or more accurately, the complete absence of it. Had someone surfaced for 30 seconds to reply "Yes, we've got your order and it's on the way," this review would look very different. So the good news is that the treasure chest was eventually found. The bad news is that the map was blank the entire time.

Thank you so much for an amazing Mermaid visit. My daughter had the best birthday and her friends enjoyed it too! Tamara-Star did a brilliant job keeping the kids entertained and did a beautiful swim. Thanks for making the day special xx

We were drawn to Making Mermaids for our daughter’s 4th birthday because they offer such a unique experience — a live mermaid swimming performance! Working through the details, Fiona was genuinely invested in making our event a success, and we appreciated her clear communication and helpful suggestions. The website also has a convenient range of decorations and themed party favours. On the day, the entertainers were enthusiastic, stayed in character, and put all the kids at ease. Having a pirate attend also was a bonus for the boys! The performance was so magical, and all the children were captivated. We have many treasured memories and couldn’t be happier with the experience.
